The Hunt For Clothes

For those of you who have taller-than-average husbands out there can probably relate to this interesting perdicament I find myself in. => Jared in 6'6 and the other day I went to the mall, with the intent on buying him a couple new shirts (all of his are from his freshman or sophomore year in high school) and I thought I knew the essential, he was an XL. So I go into the boy side of the store in search of a cute yet manly shirt for my dearest husband. And I thought I struck gold, there were these three very cute (yet masculine) shirts, and for sale!!! I went and I got some in XL but to my suprise, they looked like they could fit both Jared and I! and I started second guessing myself on the knowledge of Jareds sizes and I ended up not buying anything, ok a $10 shirt for me, but not anything I set out to buy, and went home => So today, Jared and I were playing around and I thought of my mall expereince and asked him his size again, and he told me XL. So, being the crazy people we are started testing my theory, and here are our conclusions:
Here is my handsome husband in his church attire for Stake Conference today! =>
And here is our conclusion, yes in fact boy sizes are not made for tall people, and can indeed fit two!! =>

Hunting Equals Curtains

Last week on Friday night Jared went deer hunting and I went with my friend Bri to get things to decorate the apartment! Jared didnt get a deer because the something on his gun fell off (I think it was the cap) so the explosion couldnt happen. Bummer.=> But I still love him!! Bri and I went to Porters and got a string of these stars for only $9!! I was so excited! and I love them!! Then we went to Down East and got two square-ish vases for only $3!! and the stuff to put in them were only $4 at WalMart! Oh we were so excited at the deals and the cute things we were getting!! I dont think I have ever had so much fun shopping for decorative things than I did with Bri! And the best part of it all.... I got curtains!!! I can not even tell you how excited I was that I got them!! (and the fact that I just said that makes me feel like an old lady) => So here are some pictures of my not-so-white apartment! Its not completed yet, but a lot better than the white boring apartment it was before, now it feels a little more home-y =>

Family Home Hunting

For FHE last night, Jared took me deer hunting for the first time ever!!! And Jared called it "family home hunting" I thougth that was so cute! => We went with his friend Jed to hunt some white tails => It was an interesting experience => The boys loaded me up with warm hunting gear making me like 6 times my size! And I am bummed I didnt get a picture of it, but you will have to take my word for it, it was comical. lol It was a little shocking to be walking out into a feild and having snow scattered here and there => I couldnt believe that I was going to go and sit in the snow, not as a punishment but for fun! => That was interesting. lol We didnt actually get a deer because there were other noise and distractions to keep the deer away, but it was fun! And we are planning on going again, and that time I will remember to take pictures! =>

Imagine Me, A Farm Girl

This Saturday was the first day in the duck/goose/bird hunting season, and of course Jared went with one of his friends (Jed). I was going to go with them, but waking up this morning at 5:00 (yes that early!!!!) it was pouring rain and freezing cold. Jared, being the caring and wonderful husband he is, thought it would be best if I didnt go this time because he didnt want me to be miserable, wet and freezing my first experience hunting. And how could I argue with a reason like that? => So I went back to bed and Jared went with Jed to hunt some migrating animals. They came home around 1:30pm, and they had a blast! It is always so enjoyable to me to see how much fun Jared has with his friends and hear all the crazy happenings! => They shot down 9 ducks and one goose! I am so proud of them! => When they got home, thats when I could join in the fun! I cleaned my very first duck today!!! Yippie!!! I thought it was so fun!! I cant wait until I can go shoot my own duck then clean it!! => And of course, we took pictures to document this momentous occasion! =>Jared and Jed leaving bright and early!!! They were so excited!! (and Jared is blowing me a kiss)=>Jared and the goose! That is one big bird!!!!Jared and Jed with their dead ducks!! That is just so cool! The boys getting ready to clean the birds. They set up a little station behind our apartment!

Me cleaning out my first duck!!! Oh this is soooo cool!!!

Oh my goodness!!! Here is one of the duck breasts that I just cut out!!! Wooo!!!! =>

I took many more pictures, because I thougth this was the coolest thing to do, but I will spare you all the sights of cut open ducks. => I have to say one of the coolest parts about cutting open these animals was cleaning the goose! You could see the spinal cord and nerves, the stomach, and al the insides!!! I even played with the heart!! => I love bodies and anatomy, and I never knew I would like animal anatomy!! => And now, not only do I have a freezer full of cow and pig(Jared gets his meet straight from a slaughter house and gets it in bulk =>) I have a freezer with duck and goose! Its like I have a whole farm in my freezer!!!! => Good thing Im not a vegetarian! ;-> Have a wonderful weekend! and enjoy conference!!! Love ya!!
