He Missed Me!

A while ago I bought crayons for writing on the bathtub/shower walls. They are the washable crayons found in the little kid bath section. I am in love with them! They are so much fun! Jared and I leave little messages to eachother on the walls in the shower. Its always a suprise when one will be on there since we keep our shower curtain closed. Well when I came home from CA I found the cutest suprise!
He had wrote on every single tile! He did a word search in our shower!
How cute is that!?! On the corner panel he made a list of the words I was supposed to find. (in the picture I cut of the word "I", so just know there was an "I" above the "missed")
I would like to point out a misspelling. The word is supposed to be "friend", but he forgot the "e". haha But I still LOVE it! =>
I found them all!! (in this pic I forgot to circle the word "you" Can you find it? haha) I still have it up in my shower. I erased some of it but I am just not ready to erase the part with the cute words! => haha yes, I'm a nerd and a sucker for romantic things. => I love my husband! And I love that he is so cute/romantic and creative! =>

Lights In Temple Square!

My dad and Trey drove up from CA yesterday. Kalyn's semester at BYU ended and she was moving home for a couple weeks so they had to come up and get all her stuff. After they packed up the van they came to mine and Jared's apartment (which is where they stayed the night). And we decided to go see the lights at Temple Square!
I love Christmas time! And one of the things I love about it are all the lights!! I just can't get enough lights, and temple square has plenty of lights to see! This was Jared's first time on Temple Square at Christmas time! He was amazed at the volume of lights they had!
There were nice people there who took a picture of the whole family!
I love that Dad and Trey were able to come up! And I find it funny that in this picture I am the shortest one. haha That is unique for me, but not around my family.
Kalyn and I took a picture in front of the relief society building.
I thought the wreath of the building was so pretty, so we took a sister picture by it! There are some days that Kalyn and I look like sisters and some that we dont, I think last night we didn't. haha And you can see my baby bump under the coat. I predict about three weeks until I can't zip up that coat anymore. =>
Jared took this picture of the temple and lights. I love temple square at Christmas!!!
Kalyn and Trey were playing around, dancing and singning in the lights!
My love and I enjoying the lights at Temple Square! After temple square we went to PF Changs for dinner. I had been wanting their lettuce wraps, and Dad had never been there. We all loved it! It was a great way to end our little Salt Lake adventure! I am so grateful Dad and Trey could come up and we could all play! And I am so excited to go down to California next week and play with them for more than a night!

First "Utah Writing"

When we moved to Utah Jared said "Don't decorate our house all utah" haha I have to say, I like the way people in Utah decorate their houses. Lately I have been especially liking the vinyl lettering they put on their walls. I was at the store one day and saw a way cute saying that would go perfect in out second bathroom, so I bought it. I came home and Jared accused me of buying 'utah writing'. haha Yep, I will fully admit I let Utah influance my decorating taste! => And so, the other night I put up my first 'utah writing'!
So here I go, bravely putting up my first 'utah writin' aka vinyl lettering. The words came all on one strip and they were, in my opinion, too close together. So I cut them apart and spaced them out more.
Jared thought it was funny that when I concentrated really hard my tounge would come out. haha I can't explain why, i didn't even know I did it, but this picture proves it. haha
And here it is! The masterpiece of vinyl lettering in the bathroom! I just had to stare and admire it for a while. => Jared still says its a little too 'utah' for him, but that "i (jared) like it because you (alyssa) like it". Isnt he just a dream? => And I am very proud and excited for my first 'utah writing'!!

Our New Apartment!

We moved into this apartment in the beginning of October. It is on the third floor, which made it quite interesting to get all our stuff out of the moving truck and into the apartment, but we were sucessful! Our apartment is two bedroom and two bath. To me having a second bath sounded odd to have but I have come to love it! =>
This is a picture of some of our second bathroom => I could not get all of it in one shot, but this is the jist of the bathroom (shower curtain, rug, and toilet =>)
Our master bathroom does not have as much room as the spare (spare has a lot of just space) but it has all the necessities => And I LOVE having a bathroom in our bedroom! It is so nice, especially since I am getting so aquatinted with the bathroom at nigth. haha
This is our dining room. I know its not the best picture but thats what happens when its sunny outside I guess. The color splash in this room is red. And I twisted a red window scarf with a cream one, but I dont think I like it too much, so it will be changing soon. =>
When we were packing our stuff from Idaho Jared and I decided to buy tubs rather than boxes because we could easily reuse them. Well it turns out, we didnt think about having to store the tubs when we moved into a new place. Luckily there are two little storage places that come with this apartment, so we packed those as best we could, then we put stuff under Jared's shirts in his closet, and we still had a couple tubs left. So I covered them with a table cloth and put them in the spare room. => I think it is pretty cute haha. And our sound system broke in the move, but the speakers still work, so we are storing those next to the tubs, and it makes a cute little display. haha
Jared was going to go to Idaho this weekend to hunt. He left to go and 45 mins later he walks back in the door, and with ice cream in hand! It was a great suprise!! So we got to play last night and this morning but he went to work this afternoon. So while he was at work I went down to Provo and played with Kalyn! We had a day of shopping! We went to the mall (she got a way cute dress and I got a cute shirt/turtle neck that can work now and when I am big prego!) Then Bed Bath and Beyond (I still had gift cards for there from my wedding) and then we went to Quilted Bear! I had never been to that store but my Grandma loved it, so we figured we would give it a shot! And it was so fun! We had a blast in that store! I got these shelf/frame things that Jared was able to put up! He is such a great handy man!!Kalyn and I got matching nativity sets. They are so cute! You get the blocks and have to sand and paint them then stick the natvity picture things on then do a top coat! We started on the sanding and got through that, then it was getting close to Kalyns movie party so we are saving the rest for later. I am excited to finish them! I love craft projects!!
And this is what the shelf things look like! I am so excited for them! We have decorations up in our apartment! Yay!! I love decorating the house too (if things are working the way I think they should hehe) It was a fun day! I am glad I could play with my sister and my husband! I love them! And I cant wait to see how else I can decorate and what else I can do for crafts!!

Brett and Raini's Wedding!

Jared and I went up to daho this past weekend for two big events. One of them was his best friend Brett's wedding! He married a girl, Raini, that he had met up at BYU-I, and its fun because we knew her before their dating career took off! They got married on Friday July 31 in the Idaho Falls temple! It is my first wedding that I went to, and it made me realize how much of my cereomny I don't remember. What a bummer! But it was such a privilage to be able to be there for that!
This is us just after the ceremony, waiting for the lovely couple!
And the three amios, waiting for their fourth amigo. => Don't they all look so handsome in their pink ties!?!?! hahahaIt takes a while for them to come out, so Jared and I snuck in the time to take a picture in front of the temple sign!Horray I am getting more pictures with Jared!! hehehe
The gang, all together again! I thought it was pretty funny when Brett walked out and he was wearing blue, and all at once the boys were like "What!?!?! You get blue and we are stuck with pink" Oh that was so funny! But they all look so sharp!
The bride and groom were taking pictures around temple grounds with their families, but they wanted the boys to stick around for pictures later, so of course we took some of our own! =>
The flowers were just absolutely beautiful! And look, another picture of me and Jared!! Woot woot. Its not just going to be two pictures to represent a whole year! =>
This is one of the cutest wedding pictures of the day, in my opinion! It speaks so much about their personalities!! =>
Our table at the lunch-in! They held it at the Shilo Inn just across the river from the temple! It was delicious food and very yummy!
And then, of course, was early to the reception where upon thousands and thousands of pictures were taken! I forgot what a tiring day wedding days are! And I am so grateful I don't have to do that again!! =>
After loads of pictures were taken and guests started arriving, we went out to destroy, I mean decorate Brett's truck! Jared has been anxiously awaiting payback for almost a year! This is the truck before. Can you tell Jared is excited for what he is about to do? =>
He was entirely too excited for this! It was the best part of his day, which is why most of the rest of this post is devoted to his masterpiece! hahaha
People in action... it started out just the five of us, and we started so early because Jed and Marcy still had to make a couple hour drive back to Jerome and get to sleep early because they were working early in the morning. But as we got going, some of Bretts young cousins saw what we were doing, so they joined in the fun. Yes, we were inialating this truck!!
Some of the decorating team!! THey were so proud of it!! I wrote on the windows some things, while most of them wrapped the car. Then I even wrote random things in layers around the syran wrap, so the car would look slightly more colorful! =>
One of Brett's many nicknames is Croc, don't ask why, I don't truely know, it must be a guy thing. But one of Jared's shining moments is when he drew something that actually resembled a crocodile! Good job Handsome!!
And of course, there had to be some iffy sayings, but not too iffy. => So we only did part of some. hahaha
And a prominent "Just Married" is a must. I was appointed on writing duty since I have "cheerleader" handwriting. I find that pretty funny because I don't have the girliest writing, but compared to all these boys, I guess I do =>
Oh just look at this thing!!
It looks like a spider threw up on it! No, like millions of spiders threw up on it!!
I dare you to try and guess how much syran wrap is on that truck, go on, take a guess.........
2400 SQUARE FEET OF SYRAN WRAP!!!!!!! Thats right!! Like the size of a small house!!! This thing was COVERED!!!! And it was the boy's pride and joy! They were soooo pleased with themselves!! => And this took them close to 2 hours to do!!
And when we went inside we had enough timee to eat some food, go thru the line, and then they cut the cake! We couldn't have planned better timing!! But her cake was gorgeous!!
They were so cute in cutting the cake! And they were nice and didn't shove things in eachothers faces, which I think is very nice.
And now for the best part... hahaha although Brett did cheat and he snuck a knife so he just cut through it, but it still too him a good 15-20 minutes to get it all cleaned off!!
And once Brett got his side clear enough to open the door, he went over to help Raini, who was trying to tear thru it by hand! She was such a trooper! And she did get impressively far without Bretts knife! =>
Oh it was so fun to watch them take it all off!! So worth all the time and effort!! And Jared is fully satisfied that he got his revenge! And the funny thing is, this car is leagues more covered than ours was!
This is a picture of our car, almsot a year ago. Holy cow, I can't believe it has been almost a year!!! There was writing on the windows, which took forever to come off, and they were able to get in our car, so confetti was ALL over, but I still think the truck beats this 10,000 to 1! If this trend continues, I pitty the next friend that gets married! I can only imagine how bad his car is going to be! =>

Painting Party!

For our date night Friday, Jared and I decided to paint! Canvases were on sale at our local craft store (Porters) and neither of us are painters, nor expect to become one, so we figured this might be our only time to be able to paint on canvasses! => Originally we were going to buy one big canvas and both pain on it at the same time, just to see what we can make together, but then we decided we should test our individual skills first, so we got smaller (20 by 16) canvasses for individual painting. => We started them on Friday, then got distracted by swimming at a hot springs with some friends, then finished them on sunday! => It was so fun! I am leaving for Boise today to watch my aunts little girls while they go on a romantic cruise, but when I get back Jared and I are going to paint on the big canvas! I am so excited for that! This was such a fun date! I would recomend it! (as well as the painting on one together, but i havent quite done that yet) =>Let it begin!! => Jared beginning his beach/ocean masterpiece! =>
This is Jared's wonderful masterpiece! I think its so cute! He says it looks like a kindergartener did it => Can you find all 5 faces? =>
This is my little flower! => I tried to shade it, but I couldnt make my blue dark enough, I think you can see a little shading => (thanks again for the tips and help Gram!)
Yay! They are actually straight! => I hung them all by myself! No husband or tools (minus a hammer) =>! Yay!
This is the big picture! Looking into the living room from the kitchen! => And I dont think I did a post about this (I thought about it) Jared and I recieved the stereo system from my Grandparents house. They were not very cute, so I painted the speakers and shelf black! That was a fun project that took up a good amount of my time (which is good!) => So now you all get to see our sweet set-up! =>
