EcoSure Wives Tanks!

The wives and I are planning on running a 5K marathon on the 4th of July! Our husbands have to work in the morning, so it would be a perfect way to kill some time! We went to target and bought some tank tops and green sports bras.
Janae and I took pictures of the tops in Target's dressing room, just so we could have a different view of each tank top, & these were the ones we chose.
Some of the wives did their designs in fabric marker, but I wanted to do mine in puffy paint..so I did. => The plan was to copy the logo that the sales reps have on their shirt and then put "WIVES" under it.
These are all my materials. I cut out stencils and taped the letters together to make "Eco Sure" so I could more easily puffy paint the words. It turned out pretty good I think =>
This is what the sales representatives shirts look like. So the finished product should look like this shirt, with wives underneath it. =>
And this is my finished product! Not too shabby if i do say so myself! => We will see if it looks good when I wear it in the race tomorrow! =>

Illegal Potatoes!!

Yesterday was a good and bad day. A bad one because it was puring rain in Jared's area he was selling so he didn't sell any accounts. And because of the rain they came home early, thats the good part! => Before we went off and had a date night, I wanted to see Jared's creation in action. He built his friend Jermiah a potatoe cannon!! I had heard about their adventures with it, but have never seen it in action, so we journeyed off to the park to launch some potatoes!
When we got to the park there was a lot of little kids and their parents, so the boys decided to play basketball and wait them out. => I love watching Jared play basketball! ven theough they were just messin around with the ball, he still looks soooo good with ball in hand! =>
They finally left, so onto the main event! Jared is stuffing the potatoe into the cannon, I never knew it had to be such a tight squeeze! Look at those muscles!! =>
We are ready to rumble!!!! => Its finally that time, time to shoot some potatoes!!!
These two are the masterminds behind this whole idea! Jermiah wanted a potaote gun, Jared knew how to build one, Jermiah financed the adventure, and Jared laboured to make it happen! => I must say, that thing is pretty dang cool! I wanted to take a lot of pictures and have them do it all sorts of different ways, but they fired it a couple times then wanted to get out of there. I didnt understand why. So when Jared and I were driving away he explained to me.....
Potatoe cannons are illegal to have. That its basically just like firing an unregistered gun in a public park. Well that was news to me. => I have to say it was kind of exciting. This is the first time my husband and I were on the lamb! = hehehe So shhhh, dont tell anyone =>

Fixing the Car

I know many people have done this, but today was my first time and I am very proud of myself! Our car had passed the number of miles that were on the windshield sticker (yes very technical I know) so we needed to take it in for an oil change and a couple other things. Now I have taken the car to a shop before, but Jared had done everything. All I had to do was drive it in, give them the keys, then pick it up again. Jared took care of everything else. But this time, I did everything. I called the place this morning, set up an appointment, told them what needed to be done (I tried to be as technical as I could, i think I pulled off my facsade of knowing what I was talking about!) take the car in, answer the like 10 calls I got from them asking if they could do all these different things, pay for it, and pick it up! I know its probably not as big of a deal as I think it is, but give me a break here, its my first adventure into the "big grown up car world" without Jared! Although I must be honest here, I did cheat once. One of the times they called me I had no clue what they were talking about or why they wanted to do some stuff, so I tried to call Jared, but he was working and couldnt answer, so I asked some of the wives, and they didnt really know, so I made the best decision I could. Later Jared called me back & then called the service people to find out what was going on. But it turns out, my decision wasnt that bad! Yay!! So thats my little car story for the day. I feel so grown up taking car of my own car and talking about it! =>My friend Danae was nice enough to come with me to drop my car off. The shop is just right on the corner from my apartment, probably a 10 minute walk, so I figured I could just drop off my car then walk home while its being worked on.
Yay we did it! I dropped off my car & explained things!! Woot Woot!!!
We dropped off my car at 10:30am, and I got a call at 2:30 saying my car was finished (mind you they said it was only going to be there until 12:30). The other wives were swimming at the pool so I embarked on the journey to pick up my car on my own! But don't worry, I came equipt with a popsicle!! =>
There is my precious little car, all fixed and ready to be driven!! =>
I made it through the car ordeal alive and kickin!! Yay!!! (can you tell I am a little excited?) Yay for fixed cars and adventures!!

Jacuzzi Time!

When we first got here neither the pool nor the jacuzzi had water in it, the maintenance guys were cleaning and repairing things. Then they were kind enough to open the pool, butthe jacuzzi was still closed. Last week they opened the jacuzzi, but the water was freezing!!! And yesterday, the day of all days in the pool, we went in the jacuzzi, just to be able to sit & talk while in the water, and we had a pleasant suprise! It was warm!!!! So warm you could even cal it a hot tub!
I wanted Jared to come swim with me that night, but he got home after the pool had closed, and he is such a good boy, he didn't want to break the rules and hop the fence. => Oh well, next time he gets home early we will go swimming!

Dinner & a Movie Marathon

Saturday was such a fun day! Although I do not have many pictures of it! Jared got home around 4 and it was still hot, so we went swimming! It was our first time swimming together here! I had a blast! Then one of his friends, Jermiah, came over and they made a delicious dinner and we had a "Bourne" marathon!
We only have two chairs, so dinner was interesting, but we all fit of the bean bag quite nicely! => This picture is of the boys and their dinner, and they wanted to do the "blue steele" look from Zoolander. They are weird, what else can I say. => I was a whimp and only made it through the first Bourne movie before I fell asleep. The boys made it through number two, but them called a reconoider for the third one. Even though we didn't get through the bourne trilogy it was still such a fun day!

Motherly Visit in CO

Kalyn started BYU last week! She is getting all grown up! => hehehe My mom and three of my brothers drove her to school and helped her get started. Then they decided to come to Colorado to visit! They stayed at my aunt Holly's house, who lives in Highlands Ranch. Jared and I went to dinner with all of them on Saturday which was so fun! Then on Wednesday my mom drove up to Westminster to see our apartment! Jared had to work so he didn't get to play with them, but I did!!
We had to get proof that they reall did come to my apartment! We took this picture on my moms phone and sent it to my dad, to make him jealous! => hehe
Me and the "3 little boys" They are getting so big now! I can't believe it! I still remember when they were born!! And still think of them as little babies! It's weird to see them act so old! =>
While they were here we didn't do anything extravagant. We went out for lunch, swam at the pool in my apartment complex for a bit, chilled at my apartment, and went to see Transformers 2. I took all the little boys to Transformers while my mom and Holly went to "The Proposal" and went shopping. I was glad I could give them time alone to play! And the movie wasnt half bad either. =>
And I have to say, the giant bean bag was a hit with the boys! => I am so thankful that my mom could come and visit me out here! I love living in different places, but it is very hard to be away from my family! The next step is to get them to move to Utah or Idaho, and Jared's parents to move by them, then we could all be close and play! => That would be so fun!

Life of a Door to Door Salesman...

...Sucks! I went to work with Jared on Saturday. I was so excited to be able to go with him! A whole extra day with him! What a treat!
This is us just before we left for our grand selling adventure!
We sold in anice area, some houses were for sale and the cheapest was for $3 million!! Can you believe that!?!?! I loved being with Jared all day, and to just be able to talk and be together! And it was fun to see all the elaborate way rich houses! But the selling part of it.... not so fun. => I have a new found appreciation for Jared and how hard he works for our family. I knew it was hard, and I knew the gist of it, but experiencing it first hand, just completely opened my eyes! All they do, from practically sun up to sun down, is walk, alone, thru strange neighborhoods. Even being with Jared, we got bored and discouraged! I cant imagine what its like by yourself for that whole time!
And I even tried to sell a few doors. That was invigorating! You get this little rush of excitement when someones actually answers their door! And I even had to deffer to Jared sometimes because they would ask me a question I didn't know the answer to! I love seeing him be able to talk so intelligently to people! It's makes him that much more attractive to me! hehe We did, eventually, make it through the day alive! And I even went on a Saturday, when they work only until 4 and it seemed like an eternity of walking! I love Jared and I am so grateful for how hard he works to provide!! He is amazing and I love him so much!!

Denver Temple Picture

So I am a total nerd and forgot to put what has to be one of the coolest pictures I have ever taken! And as luck would have it, its the first picture I have ever took of just solely a temple! This is from the time I went to the denver temple! I took it like two seconds after I got out of the car!Ok, so you dont have to think its as cool as I do, but I am way proud of it! => And I can't believe I forgot to put it on the denver temple p[ost! Oh well, now I can devote a whole post to my art! => hehe

Bipolar Denver Weather

People have asked me how I like living in Denver, and my normal response is "I like it a lot, but the weather is bipolar" And now, I have somewhat of proof! Yesterday started out gorgeous and sunny, and in the 70's. Then in the afternoon it got a little overcast, then sunny and perfect again. Then all of a sudden this happens....
It hails!! Like wicked hard!! This is some that was on and below the steps up to the apartment.
The ground, in the middle of june, during a hail storm. Crazy!!
I liked this, the hail would hit the roof and slide down to the gutter, then bounce off in random directions. This picture catches some random bouncing hail if you look closely.
hen it was beautiful and gorgeous and sunny again! And there is the storm going away from us. I tell you, this weather is bipolar!! And there were like loads of tornado warnings about an hour after this storm passed! Talk about a weather that can't commit to one thing! =>

Hazards of Working at a Pest Control Company

At work, there are these rat traps just chillin on some peoples desks. They are not loaded or set, they are there for the people to play with. Well yesterday one of these was on my desk. I was super tired that day, so not really paying attention to what was around me. Like half way thru the day I notice that one of those traps is sitting on my desk, and I had never played with it before, so i decided to open it and see what the big deal was. I open it a little, but then couldnt keep it open because it was too strong, so smart me, I stick my left hand in the mouth of it to see if I could open it with both hands. Well it slowly closed on my left thumb, which hurt quite a bit. I think I had an adrenaline rush or something because I opened it all the way to where it set and then I set it on my desk, because I was done playing with it and I needed to go copy things. ell, while I was gone copying I totally forgot about it, and went back to my desk. I didnt notice it there again, and put the papers down with my left hand and somehow got my right thumb in the trap to where it set it off and......yep thats right, it snapped down on my thumb!!! These things are designed to snap rats, not mice, rats necks in half!!! Now saying it hurt is a HUGE understatement!! It like killed my thumb!!

Yeah, needless to say, my eyes started to deffinately water! There was only me and the permanate secretary there, but we just started cracking up!! So I am laughing so hard I can hardly breathe, crying lots so my shirt is wet, and my thumb is throbbing and already like twice its size!! Oh but even thinking about it now I am laughing!! We didnt have any ice at the office, and there were only two of us so we couldnt leave to go get some, so I filled up a water bottle with cold water from that sparklers jug thing, and stuck my thumb in water! => Later that night I went to the temple, and it was interesting changing clothes with my thumb hurting that bad! But luckily the swelling has gone down a TON today! It is almost back to normal size! And it still does hurt, but its good enough to function somewhat normally. (Have you ever tried typing without your thumb? Its kindof tricky) =>

So thats my little pest control office adventure! Oh and this is that happened to that poor little pen I demonstrated the devils rat trap with. The picture is not so clear, but this pen was torn up! It had chunks missing and cracks everywhere!Moral of the story, dont work at a pest control company! And if you must, Never touch the rat traps!! They aim to kill!!! =>

Denver Temple!

So we have lived in Denver since the end of April, and have yet made it to the temple! It is an hour away, but still that should not be an excuse! And I have heard so many wonderful things about it! I was dying to go, and I really wanted to go with Jared....but with his crazy work schedule, and a temple that is not opened at 11:00pm, it has been an impossible task! We are working on a masterful plan to get him to the temple, but it is still a work in progress! => So two of the wives and I decided it was time for us to go to the temple, even if our husbands couldn't come. So we went today after my work! And it was AMAZING!!!!

These are the wives in our car, beginning our temple excursion!!! Oh we are sooo excited to be going!!!
Thankfully we got there safely, and without too much traffic!!
We had even gotten there a whole session earlier than we had planned, and 10 minutes before we should have gone in to change! So we decided to take some pictures!
There is not always a person around to take pictures of all of us, so we split things up. And right as this picture was being taken the sun decided to shine brighter, and I decided to start laughing! I still think its a cute picture! =>
I know this isnt a professional quality picture, but I thought the sky was absolutely GORGEOUS today, so I wanted to get a picture with the sky and the temple. I dont think it turned out too shaby! =>
We are so excited to go into the temple!!! I truely do love to see the temple, and go inside!!
Then after the temple, of course we had to stop and get some treats! And being poor newly weds, McDonalds dollar menu here we come!! =>
I love the temple so much! And I thought I remembered how much I loved it, and how much closer to my Heavenly Father I feel, but going there today reminded me even more! I am so grateful that we have a temple reasonably close here and that I am surrounded with wonderful women who love their Lord and their church enough to sacrifice their time to go with me!

Missionary Opportunity At Work

I just wanted to write down a very special experience I had today.
As far as I can remember I haven't talked to a non member about my religion just in a daily setting. Sure there have been some that come into institute, but those were always with the missionaries. But today, I was able to have the wonderful opportunity to talk to a lady I work with about my amazing religion! She actually brought it up!! Which is so cool to me! She asked me if we "Mormons" believed in only half the bible, because that's what she had heard, that Mormons only believe the parts of the bible when Christ was alive. So I had the opportunity to explain that we believe in the whole bible, Old and New testaments, because God is always in peoples lives, even if its not physically. Then she started asking about the Book of Mormon. She had heard it was a continuation of the Bible. I was able to tell her and get her to understand that God talks to all His children, and that the Book of Mormon wasn't a continuation of the Bible, but something that goes hand in hand with it. How it covers basically the same time frame, just on a different continent. And we even started talking about her beliefs in a "higher power" but she wast sure if it was a god.
It was a non-challant conversation that basically was turned on and off by interruptions at work. And even though it probably will not change her life drastically, and it wasn't an in depth testimony bearing, first discussion giving event, at least I was able to clear some things up about our religion. And most importantly it changed my outlook on missionary work drastically! I was not nervous for what she would think about me, I was not scared to talk about what I believed, I was not afraid to voice what I believe in! I even realized, I LOVE sharing my religion! I want to talk about it all the time, to anyone who will listen!! I have this new found fire, that scorched my fear of speaking out, and is burning to tell everyone the joyful news of the gospel!! And I am so excited for my two cousins who are leaving on their missions! They are going to be wonderful, and get to feel this way every day!! I am going to strive to more fully fulfill the phrase "every member a missionary" I LOVE my church! I LOVE the standards I get to uphold! I LOVE the gospel and all the blessings it can and does bring to peoples lives!! I know this church is the true church, and I want everyone to have a chance to know!!!

A Wonderful Saturday!

On Saturday, not only did I get to go to Water World, but I got to play with Jared!!!! It was amazing!!! I got home from Water World right at the same time he got home from work. People from his team were going to Boondocks fun center, and we decided to go along! It was a celebration of soorts, to clebrate improving on sales this summer! At Boondocks we got a 3 hour unlimated pass for the center. That included go-cart racing, lazer tag, mini golf, batting cages, arcade games, bumper boats, and other things but I cant remember what they were. =>
We first went Go-Cart racing! We did this many times, and every time I beat Jared! Thats right! I'm a speed deamon!! => Except these cars had a "governor" put on them, I dont know much about cars, all I know is that it made them not go past a certain speed....which was slow! =>
Then we went to play lazer tag! The EcoSure south team divided in two, and had a bit of a rivalry going! Oh but you needent fear, our team came out triumphant!! These are the three girls that are on this Eco Sure excursion. We are "Eco's Angels"!
After racing many times, and dominating in lazer tag and on the video games, we decided to cool it down with a game of mini golf! I know its the only picture with me and Jared, but he was taking all the other ones! I really did have a date with him! And he totally whooped everyone at mini golf, I was impressed! => I had such a fun time and I LOVED being able to go somewhere WITH Jared and PLAY with him!!! We even went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner! (That happens to be my favorite place to eat right now! They have the most delicious rolls and honey butter!!) As much as I dont like this job and how it takes Jared away from me, basically all week, I love how rejuvinated and fresh we feel after a wonderful weekend together!! I love JAred even more than when the day started!! And I LOVE that, and most of all Jared!!!!

Water World!

On Saturday (June 6) two of the wives and I went to the water amusement park Water World! The day was gorgeous! 83 degree weather, clear sunny skys, a more perfect day for water parks is hard to find! It was a saturday, so we were a little nervous that it would be crazily crowded, but we had to try. And to our luck, there was some big thing going on in Denver (i dont remember quite what it was) so there was hardly anyone there! We walked on to every ride except for two, and those had no more than a 15 minute wait! It was amazing!1 I love water and bathing suits and attractions, and fit them all together, its preactically perfect! =>
The parks hours are 10-6, but we went from 12-4:30. This is our lunch break at around 2. We had coupons so the admission price was quite a bit cheaper, and we packed snacks to eat, so it was an inexpensive adventure! And we all know those are the best!
We went on every ride (that we wanted to go on) and even some that we didnt! And we still left in time to see our hubby's when they get home! Look at the gorgeous sky in the background! This is the picture we took after a fun filled day of getting soaked, aka as we are leaving the water park! This park is so close to our apartments too, 10-15 mins! So exciting!! It was such a fun day with some of the wives!!

Free Floats, What Could Be better?

Last Wednesday, after Jared have come home and we had eaten dinner we decided to lounge on our bean bag and watch a little tv to relax. We ended up turning the volume down and just talking, but all of a sudden there were these big bright, popping colors. We looked at the TV and what is it? An add from Sonic saying that they were giving away free rootbeer floats that night until midnight! We discovered it was 10:30-ish so we hopped in our car and got some free rootbeer floats!! Wahoo!! And they were good sized, not the tiny ones! What a wonderful little treat we were able to get!! And they were so scrumptious!!!
Oh yeah! We were part of the free float getters!!! We are not ahsamed!! =>
I was so excited for these floats!! I had not had one in forever!! => They totally hit the spot, and I had fun on the little adventure with my hsband, and in the middle of the week! Now THATS amazing!! =>

Hair Dying Day

So two days ago the wives and I were bored so we decided to dye our hair! There were two brunettes and I was a blonde. One wanted to go darker brown with blonde highlights, one wanted to have the top half blonde and bottom brown, and I wanted to be a light brown. Things didnt work out quite as we planned =>

These are our before pictures (I know, so cute) =>
This is me bleaching Julie's hair! And no I didnt wear gloves, and yes, it hurt like the dickens!!
After I had my dye put in my hair! Oh so exciting!!!
Doing Danae's highlights! We didnt have hair foil, so we used kitchen tin foil...... big mistake! I would not reccommend it!!!
And this is our semi after picture! My hair turned out to be more red than brown, which I am in the process of fixing, Julies hair took the dye in such a weid way! Her roots were platnum, but the length of the hair was like a red/blond/brown mix, and Danaes hair didnt even take the bleach, it just made likee dark strawberry blonde highlights!
Needless to say, it was a fun adventure but the results did not turn out so hot. => Julie dyed her hair dark brown to cover the mishap, and Danae ended up liking the strazberry streaks, but wanted me to highlight blond in there too, so we did that again tonight (with different bleach & real hair foil), so I am excited to see how it turned out! I am sure I will post pictures of all our new, fixed hair when its ready! But this was a little fun adventure to have. A fun way to occupy our long lonley days! =>
