Hidden Wall Rock Climbing!

On Friday Jared and I went rock climbing in the Snake River Canyon with two of his buddies and their girls. We went to a place called Hidden Wall, which is really a wall that is in the shade most of the day (the reason we went there)
The rock climbing gang! Brett and his wife Raini, Tom and his girlfriend Lindsay, and my handsome stud!We were going to climb top rope, but the routes needed to be lead-climbed to get the rope up there. Jared happily voulenteered! => My little adventurer haha. This is a picture of Jared's first quick-draw Jared is clipping!
Needless to say, I was nervous having his climb, and I voiced that opinion. But Jared, being the stud man he is, got to the top in no time and proudly posed for my picture =>
Later in the day Jared was fooling around on the rocks. He did a toe hook and just hung there by his feet, no rope support at all! I got some other pictures of it but this is the only one you can see what his feet are doing. => I think it looks way cool!
We were able to set up two routes next to eachother which proves very helpful. Jared was at a hard 'cave' part on his route but he was able to stop and help Tom's girlfriend Lindsay thru a tough spot on her route! What a nice husband I have!
When she got to the top Jared proceeded, and did some pretty tough moves to get over the little cave part! What a handome hunk!!
I did three climbs and then my arms were caput! But I could still belay. Jared and I belayed Brett and Tom at the same time! I couldn't resist taking a cute picture before we started! Too bad the rope is in the middle of Jared's face =>
The ropes we use are dirty and get your hands all balck (as seen in the picture when we went to GArden of the Gods) I like to be clean so I stuck some wet wipes in the climbing bag so we could wash off our hands after. And when I was washing my hands the boys had me hold some of the rope and later added quick-draws to it.....yep,, my hands got dirty again! => Serves me right for trying to be a clean girl while doing a boy sport =>
And after all our stuff was packed we were playing around waiting for the others to finish loading up. I LOVE Jared and I love playing with him!!

Jed and Marcee's Wedding!

On Thurseday Jared and I had the opportunity to attend his friend Jed's wedding. He married his sweetheart in the Twin Falls temple in Idaho. We were able to go to their sealing which was such a treat!
The 'old' married couples waiting for the new ones. => It is always fun to play with Jared's friends, but especially today because Brett, Tom and Jared all worked and built the Twin Falls temple!
All the married gang in front of 'their' temple! That temple is beautiful! Good job boys!
My lover and I loving eachother in front of his temple! =>
At the wedding reception. THey had a cool theme, my best guess at a title of it is 'Idaho Wedding" They had very tasteful bits of rustic beauty thrown here and there, very pretty!
And of course, the boys had to decorate the truck. I was actually really excited for this part this time! And it was so much fun, but we did tone it down from Bretts wedding (Jared did not feel the need to get revenge => )
This is the gist of the finished product! A lot more color this time, which I really like. And we did have other family members to help too, which is always fun to teach the youngins in the art of wedding car decorating. =>
Two of the masterminds behind the ordeal (Tom's girlfriend came and they left a little before the truck was done).
A real cute idea for 'thanks yous'. They had the candies on the table and a bag to fill with it. The wedding was very fun and we loved playing with Jared's friends again!

Fishing

On Wednesday we had a relaxing day around the house and then in the evening we went fishing in the Snake River! Idaho does get freezing but in the summer it is Gorgeous!
This is a spot that we finally settled on. Jared wanted to go to a spoot he fished at all the time in high school, but it was too difficult to get to in flip flops.
So we just pulled off to the side of the road and shimmied down the bank to this rock....sand suprisingly it fit both of us quite well.
We did not stay fishing for very long, it was hot and I am not very good at it so it gets boring quickly, but Jared did catch one fish! That was fun tot watch! But he calls it a 'trash fish' so we threw it back. But it was cool to watch him catch it, but nasty to touch, so i let him do all the hard work and I took pictures. =>
To get to the part of the Snake River we were at you have to drive down the canyon. All along the way there are beautiful waterfalls like this! And just right on the edge of the road too! Idaho really is a beautiful place when it is not a frozen waste land. hahaha =>

Beginning of the Idaho Adventure!

Jared has set out with a mission of showing me what a snow-less idaho is like, since I have only seen Idaho covered in snow or about to be covered in snow! After we found an apartment in Utah we headed up to Jerome to stay with his parents! On Tues we went to WalMart and got me a little fishing pole because he wanted to take me fishing!
But first, a momentous occasion took place....Jared drove his truck in the summer for the FIRST time! He got the truck the fall/winter we were dating and then it broke so we got the car. Then he decided to fix the truck and we got it back our first married winter. Then we went to Denver in the fall and stayed most of the summer and he left the truck with his parents in Jerome. So, this is his first time to drive his truck in the summer, and yes the air conditioning did work! hehe
We drove to Crystal Springs to fish! This place was beautiful, and it was my first time fishing!! Woo!!
Yep, that is a man who is excited to fish! => He and his buddies would come to this spot in high school quite frequentlyy. It was fun to be a part of those memories!
Look at that place! It is just breathtaking! And it certainly helps to have a handsome man in the picture! => We did not stay fishing very long, and we didn't cath any fish but we went back to his parents house and met up with Jared's dad and some of his friends to go shooting!
They were not shooting shot guns, they were shooting huge rifles so we had to wear these fashionable ear muffs =>
And the best part was that we got to shoot the cool guns too! While the older men were adjusting the scope on the big guns they let me shoot the pistols. Here I am shooting a 22 pistol, I call it a James Bond gun => It was way fun, and I shot the heck out of my target!
Jared takes after his dad and loves guns. It is fun to see him in his element! Here he is shooting his Russian SKS.
Then we got to shoot the big guns. I call them the 'firecracker' guns because they get right in your chest like the huge firecrackers do! In this picture I am shooting a 30-06 high power rifle. The scope on it was pretty amazing, and I got pretty dang close to the center of my target.
Jared is shooting a vintage WW1 bolt action rifle! I feel so smart being able to say all these names, but in reality Jared is sitting right next to me telling me what they are. But hey, a girl can dream =>
And then Jared was feeling manly so he shot the WW1 gun without the stand. And he is a dang good shot too!! =>
This was the loudest gun of all!! It kicks too hard for me to shoot it so I just got to enjoy the heart thumping sound when it goes off and watching other people get jolted back. This gun is called a 7mm Mag. It was so cool!!! =>
The boys continued to shoot guns, but I am a whimp and had to hide in the truck a few times to get away from all the bugs. Mostly the dang blasted knats that fly all around your eyes. But I would get out and shoot some stuff, get back in the truck and take a bug break, get back out...it really was a good system I had going =>
We stayed out shooting until dark, which here was 9:30 pm! I could not belive it was light so late! We had a good 3 1/2 hours of shooting and it was a blast!! I love playing with Jared but it is especially fun to see him in his 'natural habitat' => And I decided that I love shooting guns! I have to work on not closing my eyes when they go off tho, it kind of ruins the aim => I am excited for the other adventures he has in store fo us!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday! She is now 41! Happy birthday Mom!!! She loves Disneyland and was able to spend a day there with her three little boys! Also, Disney is doing a deal where you can get in on your birthday for free, but since my Mom has a pass, they gave her a gift certificate for the amount a ticket would be! How cool is that!!
This picture was taken at my wedding! I love how in love my parents are!!
She wasn't even in her forties when her oldest daughter got married!! What a young woman she is!! =>
Ordering the cute drinks at the restaurant! I love my Mom! Happy Birthday!!

One Wonderful Year!

Jared and I have been married for one YEAR!! Time flies when you are having fun! And that statement has never been more true!! It does not feel like we have been married a year! Boy are years short! => We have had so many amazing adventures and grown so much mroe closer and in love! I have absolutely LOVED being married!!
I have done a lot of looking back thru our relationship, from when and how we met, to today, when we are officially married a year, and I love that I can see the Lord's hand in it all! And I love that I have a wonderful and faithful husband who always puts the Lord first in his life! I am so grateful that we were able to get sealed for time and all eternity in the Lord's house, and that so many members of our family could be there!
I was looking back thru all the blog posts I have posted this far. I started this blog shortly after we were married and have recorded our life happenings in it. From the beginning I have been planning on printing this blog into a book, like a journal of our first year of marriage. Looking back at all the events I noticed I have not put any pictures of our wedding on it! And what a better way to celebrate a first anniversary than to look back at the weddign day!
And for anyone who has ever been associated with a wedding you know, there are more pictures taken on that day than any other day of your life!
It is weird to think wearing these is just a natural thing now. I remember it was so weird to have a ring on all the times! And it was difficult to remember to put it on in the morning! I have gotten better at remembering to wear it, and sometimes I even feel like I am missing something when I don't wear it, but I am not a perfect wedding ring rememberer yet =>
Jared is a farm boy from Idaho. A true manly man. And he thinks its so amusing how I got him to be married in a pink temple! He must truly love me to be married in such a girlie temple! haha =>
I love the Newport Beach temple grounds! It is so cool how all temples are decorated and take on the culture of the land, and the Newport Beach Temple is all about the beach! Palm Trees, running water, spanish/style building! It is absolutely gorgeous!
He just couldn't resist me then, and still can't now! I thought I loved him with all my heart and as much as I could then, but it is amazing how your heart can grow and how much more I love him now! I can not even fathom what it will be like in even 10 years, let alone and eternity! But I am so excited to find out!!
And of course, I had to add a traditional wedding picture of cutting the cake! A funny story about our wedding cake. My mom and I were looking at different kinds of wedding cakes and trying to pick which kind we wanted. I wanted a small cake on top and cupcakes on the bottom (I do not think cut pieces of cake is very attractive) My mom did not think that was a very good idea and said we should go with a more traditional cake. So I download some pictures of some cakes and also one of a cake with cupcakes. While I was looking at those and comparing Jared came over and began looking at them with me. I was showing him the cake I was leaning towards and then he saw the one with the cupcakes and said "I like this one, why can't we do the one with cupcakes" and yep, my mom said 'thats would be great, ill see what I can do' or something to that effect. haha I find that story hilarious! I didn't tel him to say that, but we got the cupcakes! => Oh the power men have with food haha
I love this picture! I think it is amazing how they were able to catch the perfect action shot! => What I think is more ironic is that my little twelve year old cousins were trying their hardest to catch the bouquet. Doesn't it mean that they will be married next? hehe I guess thats just an old wise tale. =>
I am so grateful that I met Jared and that we were able to get married in the Newport Beach Temple! He is my best friend and I LOVE my life with him so far! I can not wait to see what adventures we have in the years to come! => I LOVE JARED!!!!

Anniversary Celebration!

Our one year anniversary falls on a Sunday this year so we celebrated it mostly on the Saturday before! We had been looking at apartments that whole day and on our way back to my aunts house we decided to stop and play around Temple Square. We ate dinner on tope of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building at 'The Garden'After dinner we went and walked around the temple. There was a nice old man there that the church has stationed there to answer any questions about the temple. We talked to him a while and he had some pretty interesting facts to tell us about the construction and symbols on the exterior of the temple. Then we went to the huge visitor center and played around there, watched some things, read some things, talked to some missionaries. I love temple square! I think everything there is so interesting and fun!
I LOVE JARED!! I am so happy to be married and sealed to him!! And I am so excited that we have been married for one year! And I had so much fun celebrating it with him!!

Stinkin Utah Roads!!

So, Jared and I have not been in Utah more than three days and we already are being driven crazy by the roads! The WHOLE STATE of Utah is under road construction!!!! On friday (Aug 28) Jared and I had a full day of appointments to look at apartments, so full we were a little worried about making them all on time. So we leave my aunt Heather's house and head down to Salt Lake (a trip which previously took us a little less than 20 mins to make) We had been on the same freeway for an hour and a half and had not made it to Salt Lake yet!! Jared was not very happy about the traffic, in fact he was fed up with it. He said that traffic jams caused by something cool are ok but this "stupid roadwork jam" is unacceptable! Oh I was laughing quite hard. We finaly make it to an overpass, which is a couple exists from down town and all of a sudden a police car pulls in front of a car ahead of us and makes the whole line stop! We didn't know what was happening until Jared saw and told me to look.
This is what I saw, and I did not see anything out of the ordinary, until Jared told me that the 'support beam' behind the red truck is infact not a support beam, but a new fuel tank that the truck was carrying! When people started realizing what was going on they began to turn off their cars and walk around. We were going to be there for a while. There were even kids running around playing with toys and balls. Jared and I called our appointments and tols them we were not going to be able to make it. But it was fun to be walking around the freeway. =>
They unhitched the truck and he drvoe away. Believe you me, it was a good thing the north bound side of the freeway was empty, that trucker was raging mad! and who would blame him!?!? Can you imagine going 70mph down a freeway and all of a sudden being jerked back and have your cargo stuck on the overpass? That can not be a fun feeling => After he drove away two large forklifts came across the freeway and knocked the tank off the overpass. Jared was watching it but I wasn't paying attention, and all of a sudden this huge noise was being made. Now I had never heard a bomb go off in real life, but I would imagine it sounds a heck of a lot like that big boom we heard when that thing hit the ground! It was cool!
After the tank was down they began to let cars pass, so we got to pass right by it! That thing was enormous!! Look at that damage! I would not have believed it had I not seen it!! Could you imagine if a car had been behind that truck!?!? I don't think any were, and I do not think anyone got seriously injured, but there was a line o police cars and amblences like I had never seen before! Not to mention news crews up the wahzoo! Once we initially passed it the roads we open and clear. And Jared had decided that that was a cool traffic jam and was glad it was not a dumb construction one! =>
I don't have any pictures of this next one but the next day, coming back from Pleasant Grove we were in ANOTHER traffic stand still ont he freeway! But luckily again we were up pretty close to the front so we saw the action. A WalMart truck had tipped over and they had to bring another one to unload all the cargo into and then a machine to get the truck out of the road! We passed by as they were still unloading the truck but the take-off machine was there! And not to mention the coutless other times any day that we were stuck in dumb construction traffic!! So a caution to all, when in Utah avoid any sort of timed commitment because you never know how the Utah traffic fairy is going to strike! =>
